Tips & Tricks

  • You should always check with your physician before beginning any weight loss program
  • Get a bathroom scale that measures in tenths. (Many of the video game programs for Wii and Xbox have this capability)
  • A food scale and an indoor grill are very good investments
  • Try to eat fresh food with no antibiotics, hormones, steroids, chemical or sugar injections, glazes or ingredients you can’t pronounce. The HCG diet is a very cleansing and detoxifying process. Choosing organic meats, poultry, vegetables and fruits is highly recommended
  • You may have a headache as you detox. Ask Dr. Stacy about options if this is expected or becomes unbearable
  • Fluctuations in weight loss are normal due to retention and elimination of water
  • Near the end of a phase – especially if you are close to your goal weight, your blood sugar may drop below normal. You may feel light headed, weak, shaky, or excessively hungry. 2 teaspoons of sugar on the tongue will correct the low blood sugar. Contact Dr. Stacy for instructions on how to manage the remainder of your phase.
  • Do not store drops by the microwave! Also keep them out of the direct sunlight, away from x-rays and out of extreme high or low temperatures
  • Limit mint in any form, such as toothpaste or mouthwash (this appears to hinder the absorption of the drops)
  • With every pound lost all the vitamins, proteins, blood and minerals it contained are fed back into the body
  • Make sure your sunscreen is oil free
  • I recommend a shake but keep in mind all shakes are NOT the same. There needs to be no milk, whey, wheat, rice, soy or sugar
  • Experiment with various varieties of cabbage in the recipes such as Chinese, Napa, and Savoy
  • One way to remove and reduce fat from ground beef is to add water and simmer until the fat floats on top. Pour off the excess liquid, add spices, and enjoy
  • To “deglaze” a recipe (a technique that works well with fat free cooking) allow the meat, broth and spices to reduce until the pan is dry and starting to brown slightly. Add a small amount of water or broth to the pan and this will create a flavorful, rich sauce
  • Add spices like ground cinnamon, cocoa and pumpkin pie spice to
coffee grounds for naturally flavored brewed coffee
